Our Classic tour costs 2,990 NOK per person and the Narvik day trip starts at 2,290 NOK, with transfer (Tromsø tours), thermal clothing, instruction and the Arctic Cafe stop included. There are no additional fees at the camp.
Yes. That is the point of our tours: after instruction, you stand on the runners and drive your own team, two guests per sled, swapping between driver and passenger.
A wool or synthetic base layer, warm socks and a hat. We provide thermal suits, winter boots and mittens on top. No cotton base layers; they chill you when damp.
October 20 to April 15. Come in the polar night (late November to mid-January) for aurora-friendly darkness, or in March and April for the same snow with daylight and milder cold.
Because 90+ dogs eat, live and see a vet year-round, while the earning season is five and a half months. Your ticket funds twelve months of dog care, professional mushers, thermal equipment and small groups, and we would not run it cheaper at the dogs' expense.
Yes, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure. If we have to cancel for weather or safety, you choose between rebooking and a full refund.
Time on the sled: about an hour on both tours. The Classic runs gentle 3 to 4 km loops, while the Expedition covers longer, more demanding trails of 10 to 12 km. Transfer, gear, instruction and the cafe are identical. First time? Take the Classic.
Not at all; most guests are first-timers. The instruction assumes zero experience, the trails are chosen for beginners, and mushers lead and follow every convoy.
Minimum age is 12 on all tours, and sled drivers must be at least 16. Guests aged 12 to 15 ride as passengers with an adult driving.
At Prostneset harbour bus terminal, Samuel Arnesens gate 5, central Tromsø, ten minutes before departure. The coach transfer to Camp Aspemo (60 to 75 minutes) is included.
Camp Aspemo lies in Breivikeidet, about an hour north-east of Tromsø. You do not need to find it yourself; the coach takes you from the city.
Hot drinks and homemade cake in the Arctic Cafe are included in every tour. Mention allergies when booking.
Maybe, and it is glorious when it happens, but no honest operator guarantees the aurora. Darkness (September to March), clear skies and patience improve your odds; the dogs run regardless.
Camp Aspemo sits inland and higher than the city, so snow from early November is the norm. If a tour ever cannot run safely, we rebook or refund you in full.
